Mysticism and divinity, romance and gothic, harmony and silence - all of this you can feel and see on the Lychakiv cemetery, the famous Lviv Necropolis. Beginning from the end of the 18th century, people who were outstanding for history were burried here. Walking through the cemetery-park, open-air museum, we'll get know a lot of interesting stories about life, love, as well as business or humor from biographies of very different personalities.
Among the prominent "inhabitants" of this "city of the dead" are Ivan Franko, Igor Bilozir, Volodymyr Ivasyuk, Solomiya Krushelnytska, Markian Shashkevich, Stefan Banakh, Maria Konopnitskaya, Arthur Groger and several other distinguished figures. In addition to single burials, there are memorials to the cemetery for the victims of battles, rebellions of different eras. The Ukrainian and Polish military memorials, located on specially designated areas, deserve special attention.
