"Golden horseshoe of Lviv region" - it's popular tourist route to the most famous castles of the Lviv region. The name "Golden Horseshoe" got through the location of locks with an arc similar to a horseshoe. You can personally see how diverse the Lviv region is. Landscapes of plains, lowlands and hills, small old Galician settlements ... And three real castles, full of stormy historical events!
Olesky castle - the oldest along this route. Mentions about him dating back to the 14th century. Moving from hand to hand, the fortress still remained strong enough. The building became the birthplace of the king John The III Sobieski. And today the castle retains many valuable things of different ages: furniture, paintings, icons, household items, wooden sculptures ... The attention paid to painting on the canvas is more than 80 square meters on the theme "The Battle of Vienna".
Pidgirtsi castle - the former residence of Crown Hetman Stanislav Konetspolsky. The building, called "the small Versailles", was designed in the middle of the 17th century as one of the best examples of the Renaissance architecture of that time. Opposite to the prominent building proudly stands the baroque church of St.Joseph.
The Zolochiv castle - example of the 17th-century architecture, built near the picturesque town Zolochiv. In addition to the building of the Grand Palace (in fact, the castle), the yard of the complex is also decorated with the Chinese Palace - building of the mid-18th century, in which sometimes tea ceremonies are held. Additional colors in the courtyard of the castle complex are given by two stones, which, according to legend, originate from the former castle of mysterious Templar Knights ...
